The City of Roswell is producing a special video series that will inform its citizens about the various types of funds through which different city departments’ finances are managed. A special emphasis will be given to highlighting the departments that operate under Enterprise Funds.
The “Money Matters” series will begin this month with the debut of the first video on the city’s website and social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube). The initial video to be released in the coming days will give an overview of the city’s Enterprise Funds. These types of funds are used for departments set up to operate in a business model by charging fees directly to customers who use those departments’ services. Those fees provide the revenue each department uses to operate. These departments are Water/Wastewater, Solid Waste/Landfill and the Air Center.
Future videos in the series will highlight the specific departments under the Enterprise Funds system, with each video featuring the department experts discussing how their departments are operated and maintained using Enterprise Funds. A final video in the series will explain the city’s General Fund and Special Revenue Funds.
In conjunction with the release of the first video about Enterprise Funds, the city’s March 18 virtual public forum, which is livestreamed at 5:30 p.m. on the city’s Facebook page and Instagram account (and later posted to YouTube), will focus on that topic. Links to all the city’s social media channels are found on the “Live Stream” page of the city website.
