New fees set for recreation facilities and museum

New admission and activity fees will be in place for the City of Roswell Recreation Department facilities and the Roswell Museum and Art Center beginning when the new year arrives.

The new fees have been established to try to ensure the recreation and museum services provided to Roswell citizens and visitors can be sustained at a high-quality level for the long term. The new fees take effect Jan. 1, 2021.

“Our new fees are designed to provide fair and easier access for all city residents with high-quality programs and services,” says Recreation Manager Marcus Gallegos. “The new membership rates will allow everyone to customize their membership to fit their needs and budget.”

“Historically, the museum has heavily relied on financial support from the city government,” explains museum Executive Director Caroline Brooks. “However, due to budget cutbacks, we need to consider a different funding model for the museum. An entrance fee, combined with an expanded membership program, will provide us with more financial stability, while allowing us to continue to provide accessible, high-quality cultural experiences for all.”
