The reconstruction of a main sewer line underneath a section of North Garden Avenue is scheduled to begin Monday, April 25. The project will require North Garden from just north of East Fourth Street to just south of the Spring River bridge (which is south of Petro Drive) to be closed to through traffic for about three months. Access to local residences and businesses will be accommodated.
The contractor will be reconstructing the main sewer line that is under the middle of North Garden Avenue. Crews intend to work from the south end of the project area to the north, opening traffic access on the south end as the work progresses northward. The project will also include connecting customers’ properties to the reconstructed sewer line.
The project is expected to be completed by the end of July. A pavement maintenance project is planned for that section of North Garden sometime after the sewer line work is finished.
