Non-Lending Library


This is free to the public. It is a non-lending library. Teachers with an Educator’s Membership may borrow library resources. The museum library can also facilitate inter-library loans.

Library Materials


The Roswell Museum’s 8,000 volume library includes books, catalogues, periodicals, and audio-visual materials related to world art history, anthropology, art and history of the Southwest, applied art, photography, museum studies, and rocket history-technology.

Unique primary source materials related to the Federal Arts Project in New Mexico, and the archives of artist Howard Cook and physicist Robert Hutchings Goddard are an important resource for scholars.
Research Library
The library also houses vertical files on artists in the Museum’s collection and artists of the Southwest, and video and audio tapes related to museum studies, the art and culture of the West/Southwest, and world art history.
