Request for Inspection of Public Record (IPRA) 2024


The City of Roswell is committed to transparency and providing easy access to public records pursuant to the New Mexico Inspection of Public Records Act (IPRA). The New Mexico Inspection of Public Records Act gives the public the right to access records created and maintained by the City of Roswell. The City is not required to answer questions, create documents or records; create statistics or other analyses; perform legal search, or comply with a continuing request to supply information on a periodic basis. Some responsive records may be exempt from disclosure as provide by law NMSA§14-2-1. 

How to file a Public Records Act Request

The City of Roswell has a Public Records Portal (NextRequest) that allows anyone to submit a request, correspond with City staff, and track requests online. The portal also allows users to search for published public records and documents.

Roswell Municipal Court Public Records – as of July 1, 2021, for those public records kept by and in the possession of the Roswell Municipal Court, please contact Belinda Franco at or by telephone at 575-624-6725.


Below is the City of Roswell Fee Schedule for all requests with the exception of those for The Police Department and Municipal Court. Please see Resolution 23-54: Inspection of Public Records Act Fee Schedule

  • Photocopy of documents 8 ½ “ x 11” or smaller - $0.50 per page
  • Photocopy of documents 11” x 17” - $1.00 per page
  • Photocopy of documents 18” x 24” or 24” x 36”
  • Records transmitted electronically (photocopies not utilized) - $3.75 for every 15 minutes
  • USB flash drive (provided by City) - $10.00
  • Postage for mailing records - $10.00
