Big Read Roswell

into the beautiful northThe Big Read program is funded by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and promotes literacy and civic unity by having as many people of all ages reading and discussing the same book. Luis Alberto Urrea’s Into the Beautiful North is this year’s Big Read focus book. The novel explores themes of identity, family, love, immigrants, politics, friendship, bridges, borders, quests, culture, and more.

Although, Urrea’s novel is this year’s selection. Teachers and book clubs may choose from other titles that explore similar themes and topics. Most of the books on this list are currently available to check out from The Roswell Public Library. You may search for them using our online catalog or you may call us at (575) 622-7101.

The library thanks Roswell Independent School District for providing this list to the public. For more information about
