Definition and Distinguishing Characteristics
This is part-time, entry level, law enforcement-related police work. Under general supervision, provides police services that otherwise would be lost or delayed because of workload saturation on the part of sworn officers. Relieves sworn officers of non-related or low priority police service so that they may pursue anti-crime activities more effectively.
Work is performed in accordance with departmental rules and regulations and upon specific oral and written instructions from a superior. While many decisions are limited by established procedure, independent judgement, usually based on precedent, must be exercised in the handling of specific cases. Some of the work actions are final and represent the last level of responsibility, but many are reviewed or reconsidered internally or by the judicial system before being considered final. Definition and Distinguishing Characteristics
This is full-functioning professional library work. Work involves providing professional library expertise to a major library area such as cataloging and acquisitions, reference, adult or children's services.

Definition and Distinguishing Characteristics
This is highly responsible, administrative and supervisory work. Work involves performing the office functions of the Roswell Public Library.
Work is performed in accordance with established department procedures. The employee exercises considerable independent judgement in making routine decisions. Definition and Distinguishing Characteristics
This is full-time specialized security work performed at the Roswell Museum and Art Center. Work involves the application of routine security principles in protecting the Museum's collection and assisting the visiting public.
Work is performed in accordance with the operating policies of the Museum with the employee expected to exercise good judgement in enforcing the rules in specific circumstances. Work involves very limited decision-making. However close attentiveness to duty and reliability are important aspects of the job. Work requires knowledges that can be readily learned on-the-job. Work involves no supervisory responsibilities and the employee receives direct supervision from a Museum Attendant II. Work is reviewed primarily through observation.
Typical Examples of Work Performed
Circulates throughout the entire Museum maintaining a constant check on visitor activities and the well-being of the collection.
Maintains a constant check on the environmental conditions within the Museum with special consideration to temperature and lighting normalcy, reports deviations immediately to the proper authorities.
Monitors Museum activities through remote control television cameras.
Assists visitors and answers routine questions, requests visitors to sign in on an attendance log, checks visitors' briefcases, parcels, etc. and maintains their security until visitors depart.
Responsible for securing the Museum at closing time and making final security checks on all Museum areas.
Opens the Museum to the public.
May drive City vehicles.
Performs related work as required.
Knowledges, Skills and Abilities
Ability to learn the specific security procedures of the Museum including fire prevention procedures, evacuation procedures and similar procedures set forth in written manuals.
Ability to remain alert and to concentrate on assigned tasks through long periods of apparent normalcy.
Ability to establish and maintain friendly and courteous relationships with Museum patrons.
Ability to drive City vehicles safely and efficiently.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees and the general public.
Minimum Requirements of Education and Experience
Graduation from a standard senior or vocational high school and a work record suggesting dependability and reliability.
One year experience in comparable security position.
Necessary Special Qualification
Must possess and maintain a valid Class D driver’s license issued by the State of New Mexico and have a satisfactory driving record.

Definition and Distinguishing Characteristics
This is beginning-level sales work in a museum store associated with a City-operated cultural institution. Work involves the application of straightforward merchandising skills to the showing of a variety of items to potential customers.
Work is performed in accordance with museum store procedures; however, the employee is expected to show initiative and enthusiasm in showing, demonstrating and talking about the items on sale and their relationship to the institution. Employees make few decisions outside of established policy and the work requires knowledges that can be readily learned on the job. Employees exercise no supervision and receive immediate supervision from the Museum Store Manager. The work involves considerable contact with the customer public and requires courtesy and tact.
Typical Examples of Work Performed
Shows museum store merchandise to patrons, explains significance of items and answers other questions.
Maintains cash drawer, writes up sales, gives change and writes receipts, etc.
Cleans shelves and maintains the cleanliness and neatness of store area, may assist in the pricing of new items, places new items on the shelf.
Assists in the maintenance of the security of jewelry and other sales items of unusual value.
