Roswell Artist in Residence, Shanti Grumbine, has invited two distinguished poets, Richard Greenfield and Colette LaBouff, to read their works in dialogue with her exhibition, pilgrim, approaching wordlessness. All three artists touch on the intersection between the natural and made worlds, engage language and topography, and find transcendence in mundane objects and moments. This event will be presented in the Marshall and Winston Gallery.
Richard Greenfield is a professor of creative writing and poetry at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces and is editor-in-chief of the literary magazine Puerto del Sol and co-editor of Apostrophe Books. He is the author of three books of poetry, including Subterranean, Tracer, and A Carnage in the Lovetrees.
Colette LaBouff writes essays and poems in Roswell, New Mexico, where she is currently a part-time reference librarian at the Roswell Public Library. Her writing has recently appeared in At Length and Hotel Amerika.
