Exhibiting a permanent collection of work by over 130 artists from Roswell's "Artist in Residence" program, the program established in 1967 has brought artists to live and work in Roswell from all the world continents.

The residency campus located northwest of Roswell provides artists with individual houses, studios and a monthly stipend. Grants range from six to twelve months with five artists plus families or companions living at the campus as a normal compliment.

Artists are selected on a competitive basis by jurors making a selection from several hundred applicants each year.

Selection is based on work quality and dedication to continue creation. No attention is given to race or gender, but over more than 30 years the program has achieved a balance that appears almost to be a planned effort.

The program established in 1967 by Donald Anderson and the Roswell Museum and Art Center is internationally acclaimed. Its past artists are the source of its recognition, and they continue to refer many exceptionally creative applicants to the program. Once in the program, an artist is completely free to pursue his or her work. To create new work free of any other demands is the sole requirement.
