Ever wonder how you can help at the zoo? Volunteering!
We are always looking for more volunteers to help out. Volunteers help make the zoo a better place for guests and animals.
There are many different areas within the zoo that you can help with depending on your availability. Some of the areas we are currently seeking volunteers for are:
Event set up/tear down
Picking up trash on weekends/Mondays
Assisting with education programs (usually Monday-Friday)
Zoo Camp (Month of June, Monday-Friday mornings)
The zoo will also be doing a once a month volunteer day with a big project that we need help with. To volunteer on these days you do not need to already be a volunteer, you can just show up. Keep an eye out on Facebook for more information on these days.
To be a volunteer at the zoo:
You do not have to be a member of the Friends of Spring River Zoo
For volunteers under the age of 18 they will need a parent or guardian to sign the application as well
Anyone 18 years old and older is required to have a background check done (forms available at the zoo main office)
Volunteers must provide proof of insurance
Must sign a volunteer waiver
If this sounds like something you would like to be a part of, you can fill out the application online or go to the zoo and fill it out there.
